Entrepreneur in Residence (EiR), Operations
We’re nydo: a well-funded, founder-led D2C brand reinventing the premium sofa. We combine Italian-inspired design, honest European craftsmanship and obsessively good comfort to build timeless pieces people keep for years — all sold through a tightly integrated online + offline experience. We move fast, think big and scale across Europe.
Why ambitious people love nydo
- Real ownership from day one. You’ll join a small leadership team and have your own outcomes (not tasks). Your work will shape product, ops, and growth — and you’ll see the impact within weeks, not years.
- Speed + scale. We’re well funded and ready to grow quickly across markets. That means high-velocity decision-making, big projects, and plenty of runway to test bold ideas.
- Premium product, clear mission. We sell well-made sofas that people love, with thoughtful materials, long warranties, and a service experience that turns customers into fans.
- Founder-adjacent learning. Work directly with the founders and investors, present to stakeholders, and help write the playbook as we scale.
Our values (how we work)
- Design: elegant, simple, distinct.
- Comfort: the product promises; everything else supports it.
- Ownership: we ship and we own outcomes.
- Curiosity & speed: test, measure, learn, repeat.
- Hands-on execution: we embrace 80-20 and love to get things done
Location
This role is Frankfurt or Lisbon based
What you’ll own
Work side by side with the founding team on high-impact operations projects, from opening new markets to onboarding partners and making every delivery feel effortless. This is a high-exposure role for someone who wants to learn fast, build real processes and fast-track to leadership.
- Support the founding team on strategic ops projects across international expansion, supply chain and fulfilment.
- Shadow and execute the ops side of country launches (Germany, Austria, Switzerland, BeNeLux and next EU markets): carrier selection, 2-man delivery partners, returns flows and local compliance.
- Own discrete workstreams end to end: carrier and supplier tenders, rate negotiations, partner onboarding and fulfilment pilots.
- Build and optimise our ops playbooks: market launch checklists, cost-to-serve models, lead-time planning and supplier scorecards.
- Run internal efficiency projects: order flow automation, Shopify improvements, master data and SKU hygiene, packaging and EPR compliance.
- Coordinate cross-functional execution with product, CX, finance and our manufacturing partners to hit shared goals.
- Produce business cases, vendor comparisons and investor-grade slide decks to support strategic decisions.
KPIs you’ll own
- Delivery promise: on-time delivery rate and lead time vs. promised date, per market.
- Cost to serve: logistics and fulfilment cost per order and as % of revenue.
- Quality: damage, claim and return rates; supplier on-time and quality performance.
- Market readiness milestones: carriers contracted, ops flows tested and compliance in place; on-time launch against the roll-out roadmap.
- Internal delivery: rollout of tools and automations that reduce manual work and free up the team.
Who you are
- 2–4 years of experience in operations, supply chain or logistics, gained in consulting, high-growth startups or e-commerce, and can show tangible outcomes (market launches, cost savings or partner contracts).
- Entrepreneurial mindset: you thrive in fast, founder-led environments and prefer shipping over perfecting.
- A natural builder: you scope, design and ship projects independently rather than waiting for instructions.
- Comfortable owning projects from research to execution and translating analysis into action.
- Strong communicator — fluent English required; German a strong plus.
- Deep curiosity for e-commerce, digital products and brand building.
- Problem-solver: you challenge the status quo and have a “get-it-done” attitude.
Nice to haves
- Hands-on experience with Shopify, OMS, WMS tools.
- Prior internships/working-student roles in startups, D2C/e-commerce, consulting or consumer goods in operations.
- Basic Business analytics skills (Excel/Sheets, simple SQL or dashboarding experience).
What we offer
- A high-impact role in a well-funded, fast-moving startup — real ownership from day one.
- Work directly with the founding team on strategy, product and growth decisions.
- A creative, international culture that values curiosity, ownership and simplicity.
- Competitive salary
- Hybrid working, flexible hours, and access to external mentors and a training budget.
- A chance to build and shape the future of the Operations team.
